BOSTON, Mass. -- University of Delaware men’s basketball senior guard Devon Saddler was named to the 2014 Lou Henson Mid-Major All-America Team and is a finalist for the Mid-Major Player of the Year award, it was announced Thursday.

Saddler recently wrapped up an outstanding four-career at UD in which the Aberdeen, Md. native set a school record by scoring 2,222 points, the third highest total by current Division I players.

A first team All-Colonial Athletic Association pick in each of the last two seasons, Saddler ranked second in the league and is currently 31st in the nation this season by averaging 19.7 points per game. He also led the conference with 37.0 minutes played, while ranking fourth with 3.6 assists per contest and a 1.7 assist/turnover ratio.

Saddler reached double figures in all but one game this season, and surpassed the 20-point mark 15 times on the year. He averaged 15.7 points per game during the Blue Hens’ run through the CAA Tournament, earning All-Tournament Team honors.

In addition to points, Saddler also ended his career as Delaware’s career leader with 124 games played, 1,749 field goal attempts, 534 free throws made, 713 free throws attempted, and 4,456 minutes played.

The winner of the 2014 Lou Henson Award will be announced at the CollegeInsider.com Awards Banquet on April 4 in Dallas, site of the Division I Men’s Basketball Championship.
