During the month of August, Delle Donne led the WNBA in three-point percentage, shooting 59.3% behind the arc. She led all rookies in scoring (18.4) and rebounding (5.8).

On August 11, Delle Donne scored a career-high 32 points in an overtime victory against the Western Conference leaders, the Minnesota Lynx. In that game, she hit the game tying three point shot with 4.5 seconds left in regulation forcing overtime. In addition to a career high 32 points, she matched her career high in blocks (4), pulled down six rebounds and went a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line.

Delle Donne returned from a foot injury on August 20 with a game high 24 points and eight rebounds in Washington to defeat the Mystics. She recorded her 12th 20-plus point game of the season when she put up 25 points in Atlanta on August 24. She is now tied for eighth all-time alongside Chamique Holdsclaw for rookies with 20-plus point games.

Delle Donne was awarded two WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week Awards during the month of August. She took home the honor for standout performances during the weeks of August 5-11 and August 19-25.

Her efforts over the course of the month helped the Sky clinch their first ever playoff berth in the eight-year history. Delle Donne’s 15 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots to defeat the Atlanta Dream on August 31 assisted the Sky in securing the top seed in the Eastern Conference throughout the playoffs.
