NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware women’s basketball head coach Tina Martin is pleased to announce the hiring of Allison Daly as the team’s Director of Basketball Operations.

Daly, a former standout at Saint Francis University, will be responsible for the oversight of the Blue Hens’ travel arrangements, practice scheduling, team managers and film exchange in addition to assisting with administrative duties.

“We are thrilled to have Alli join our staff,” Martin exclaimed.  “She is a young, enthusiastic coach who brings valuable experience to our staff.  We welcome her with open arms to the Delaware family.”

Daly arrives at Delaware from her alma mater, where she was the Director of Operations for the Red Flash last season.

“I am honored to accept this position at UD,” remarked Daly.  “I cannot wait to work with a great staff, team and such a supportive community.  I am so thankful for the opportunity that Coach Martin and the rest of the athletics department have given me.  I look forward to my first season as a Blue Hen!”

A 2011 graduate of Saint Francis, Daly scored 1,173 career points with the Red Flash – the 14th-most in program history.  She also is first in three-pointers attempted (632), second in three-pointers made (222), fourth in steals (210), eighth in blocks (66) and 13th all-time in rebounds (594).

A native of Harrisburg, Pa., Daly was a member of two Pennsylvania state semifinalist teams at Trinity High School.

Delaware women’s basketball kicks off the 2013-14 season on November 8 at Rhode Island.
