RICHMOND, Va. – Following a career week for the University of Delaware, women’s basketball senior Kelsey Buchanan (South Riding, Va.) collected Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week honors, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Buchanan posted her first career double double Tuesday with 13 points and a career-high 10 rebounds in Delaware’s 70-58 loss to Temple in the home opener.  The center added a career-best 22 points, including her first career three-pointer, to lead the Blue Hens (2-1) to a 71-51 victory against Wake Forest Friday evening.  For the week, Buchanan averaged 17.5 points and 9.5 rebounds.

Buchanan currently leads all Delaware players and is ranked fifth in the CAA with 16.7 points this season.  She is also tied for sixth in the conference with 8.0 rebounds per contest.

Northeastern’s Jewel Tunstull shared CAA Co-Player of the Week honors with Buchanan while Alexis Smith (Drexel) was named the CAA Rookie of the Week.

The Blue Hens wrap up a brief homestand Tuesday with a 7 p.m. tipoff against Monmouth at the Bob Carpenter Center.
