RICHMOND, Va. – University of Delaware freshman Hannah Jardine (St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada) was named a Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Co-Rookie of the Week following career outings in wins against both Northeastern and Towson.

Jardine averaged 11.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting .611 (11-for-18) from the field in two victories for the Blue Hens, who have improved to 13-6 overall and 5-3 in league action.

The forward posted her first double-digit scoring effort with 10 points against Northeastern Thursday and upped her career-high to 13 points at Towson Sunday.  Jardine also established career-highs with 38 minutes played, six field goals made and three assists against the Tigers.

For the season, Jardine averages 4.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 21.2 minutes for Delaware.  After coming off of the bench in her first 10 games played, Jardine has nearly solidified a role for herself in the Blue Hens’ starting lineup.

The accolades are the first for Jardine in her rookie campaign.

Jardine shares the week’s honors with William and Mary’s Marlena Tremba.  Annie Payton was tabbed the CAA Player of the Week for Hofstra.

Delaware plays just one game this week as the Blue Hens travel south to take on UNCW Thursday at 7 p.m. in CAA action.
