Annual UD Student-Athlete Talent Show Benefitting Special Olympics Set for Tonight at Mitchell Hall
NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware student-athletes will have the chance to display their off-the-field talents this evening, Apr. 27, when they take part in the annual UD Student-Athlete Talent Show at Mitchell Hall at 7 p.m.
Admission is $5 with proceeds benefitting Special Olympics Delaware.
Now in its third year, Blue Hen student-athletes have shown their talents in dancing, singing, acting, and comedy in the past, much to the delight of the audience and fellow student-athletes.
Last year members of the UD men's swimming and diving team took home the first place prize.
"Our student-athletes have a close relationship with Special Olympics Delaware and this event is another opportunity to strengthen that bond," said Rachel Fineberg, assistant director of UD Student Services for Athletes and coordinator of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC). "We are happy to be able to contribute to the community and give back. The talent show lets us do that in a fun and creative way and show our Blue Hen spirit."
