NEWARK, Del.  --  The University of Delaware men’s lacrosse squad will be in action at home for the third time in the last four weeks Saturday when the Blue Hens take on Mt. St. Mary’s at 1 p.m. at Delaware Stadium.

Tickets to the event are available at the gate an hour before opening faceoff.

The Blue Hens (1-2), who opened the season with a 10-3 win over a High Point and a 6-4 setback to then No. 15 Bucknell, will be looking to get back on the winning track after Delaware ran into an explosive Fairfield offense and fell by an 18-8 score last Saturday at Delaware Stadium.

Despite the loss, Delaware got two goals each from senior Dan Keane and freshman Paul Major - the first two goals of his career - and received a dominating outing from Tyler Barbarich, who won 15 of 22 faceoffs.

Mt. St. Mary’s, which lost its top 10 scorers from last year’ team that went 6-9 and averaged over 10 goals per game, has opened the 2014 season with consecutive road losses of 16-3 to then No. 16 Maryland and 10-4 to Georgetown.

The teams will be meeting for the 13th time with Delaware holding a 10-2 advantage. However, the Mountaineers have won two straight over Delaware, including a 12-10 win in 2012 at Delaware Stadium and 15-12 victory last season in Emmitsburg, Md.

Delaware is led offensively by Connor McRoy (3 goals, 4 assists) and Brian Kormondy (3-2), Barbarich has won 65.8 percent of his 38 faceoff attempts, and James Connelly and Brandon Worrall lead the close defense.
