TOWSON, Md. -- The University of Delaware men's lacrosse team will be out to claim its first Colonial Athletic Association victory of the season this evening as the Blue Hens take the short trip south to take on longitme rival Towson University at 7 p.m. at Johnny Unitas Stadium.

The Blue Hens (6-3, 0-1 CAA) will look to shake off an 11-9 loss at Hofstra in their CAA opener last Saturday which ended a four-game win streak, the team's longest since the 2010 NCAA Tournament season.

The defending CAA champion Towson Tigers (6-2, 0-0 CAA) have been receiving votes in the national Top 20 polls and will be looking to win their sixth straight game after starting the season with a 1-2 mark.

Delaware, which has lost two straight to the Tigers, including a 7-6 setback in overtime last year at Delaware Stadium, are led by junior midfielder Brian Kormondy (10 goals), junior faceoff specialist Tyler Barbarich (.644 winning pct.), senior defenseman James Connelly, and sophomore goalkeeper Conor Peaks.

Barbarich ranks No. 8 in the nation in faceoff winning pct. while Peaks leads the CAA in both goals against average (8.13) and save pct. (.596). As a team, Delaware leads the CAA in scoring defense (8.38 goals per game), man-down defense (7.5 per game), and man-down defense (.800).

Towson, coming off consecutive wins over Georgetown, Mt. St. Mary's, Marist, Navy, and UMBC, is led by Thomas DeNapoli (13 goals), Joe Seider (12 goals), and Greg Cuccinello (11 goals).

Despite their 6-2 record, the Tigers have been outscored this season 77-76. However, Towson is undefeated at home with a 5-0 mark and has won eight straight since last March.
