Chelsea Duffy Earns ECAC All-Star Status for Women's Soccer
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has named Chelsea Duffy of the University of Delaware women’s soccer team as one of its 33 All-Star selections for the recently completed 2013 season.
The teams are comprised of student-athletes from a possible 88 institutions from 17 different conferences, and the balloting was completed by head coaches within the ECAC Division I Women’s Soccer membership.
Duffy, who most recently earned NSCAA All-Region honors, was named to the ECAC second team. In November, Duffy also earned the first All-Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) first team honor of her career as she played her last season as a Blue Hen this fall. The quick and agile midfielder finished her senior season ranked second on the team in points (10), scoring three goals and passing out four assists.
The Glassboro, N.J. native was one of five student-athletes who represented the CAA on the ECAC All-Star squad. Sam Scolarici and Leah Galton of Hofstra earned second team honors while Hanna Terry of Northeastern and Becky Sparks of James Madison were named to the ECAC first team.
