Women's Swimming and Diving Finish Third While Men Take Home Fifth Place at Bucknell Invitational
LEWISBURG, Pa. – After the final day of competition at Kinney Natatorium, the University of Delaware men’s and women’s swimming and diving team finished third and fifth, respectively, at the Bucknell Invitational.
The women’s field totaled 10 teams while the men’s side had nine teams that competed.
The women’s 400 Freestyle Relay team highlighted day three of competition for both Blue Hens squad as the four members of the relay took home a second place finish. Alyssa Sanders, Mary Kay Harris, Dominique Montoya and Maggie Tracy finished the relay in a second-best time of 3:29.61.
Tracy took home an individual fifth place finish in the 100 Freestyle (52.38) while Montoya earned her own top-10 finish in the 100 Freestyle (53.24).
Junior Hailey Farrell tallied a sixth place finish in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 17:24.22 as freshman Annie Nunes also earned a sixth place finish of her own. Nunes finished the 200 Breaststroke in 2:24.10.
For the second consecutive day, Matt Marquez led the Delaware men with an individual fourth place finish. Marquez finished the 200 Butterfly in a team-best 1:53.55.
To wrap up the Blue Hen men’s top-10 finishes, Cory Camp finished the 1650 Freestyle in 15:59.15 to earn a seventh place finish.
The Delaware men and women will take a week off from competition until Dec. 5, when the Blue Hens travel to Knoxville, Tenn. to compete in USS Short Court Nationals. The Short Court National is a three-day event.
