CHRISTIANSBURG, Va.  -- The University of Delaware closed out its 2013-14 women’s swimming and diving season Tuesday afternoon as Blue Hen sophomore divers Kristina Congdon and Caitlin Stockwell competed in the three-meter event at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships at Virginia Tech’s Christiansburg Aquatic Center.

Congdon, a native of Yardley, Pa. (Pennsbury HS), placed 38th overall in the three-meter event with 203.75 points while Stockwell, a native of San Jose, Calif. (Presentation HS) posted a 44th place showing with 186.25 points.

The duo competed for the second straight day after Congdon finished 42nd and Stockwell placed 50th in the one-meter diving event on Monday. The third and final day of the meet will be held Wednesday when the platform diving competition takes place, but Delaware does not have an entry in that event.

Michaela Butler of Massachusetts won the individual women’s three-meter title Tuesday while Harvard’s Michael Mosca won the men’s one-meter competition.

This was the second straight year that Congdon and Stockwell qualified for the meet. Congdon placed 31st in the one-meter and 36th in the three-meter event last season while Stockwell was 40th in the three-meter and 43rd in the three-meter.

Last week, Congdon placed fifth in the three-meter and sixth in the one-meter and Stockwell as sixth in the three-meter and 11th in the one-meter at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships.
