Jen Burdette was named assistant equipment manager in July 2013. She serves as the assistant equipment manager for the Bob Carpenter Center and is responsible for the sports of men's and women's basketball, field hockey, volleyball, men's and women's swimming & diving, and women's rowing.
Burdette began her career at the University of Delaware in 2001 as a student manager for football and basketball. She was a student manager with football in 2003 when the team won the NCAA FCS national championship.
In 2004, Burdette accepted a full time position as equipment manager in the Delaware Field House. In 2008, She took a break from athletics and went to teach preschool at Celebree Learning Center in Bear, Del. She returned to the University of Delaware in July 2012 as a part time equipment manager to oversee the equipment room in the Bob Carpenter Center Annex.
Burdette graduated in 2004 from the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in health behavior management, with a concentration in sports management. She also received a second bachelor’s degree from Delaware in 2008 in health and physical education.
Burdette attended St. Mark’s High School in Wilmington, Del. She currently resides in Middletown, Del. with her husband, Kevin, and their 3-year-old son, Aaron.
