Lauren Hylton was named director of annual giving and special gifts for University of Delaware Athletics on September 18, 2013.
She comes to Delaware from the Brown University Sports Foundation staff where she worked since 2008.
Hylton is responsible for the management of the Delaware Athletics annual giving program and serves as director of the UDAF Fund. She works closely with staff, coaches, alumni, and volunteers and is instrumental in developing strategic initiatives to provide increased revenue in support of the mission of Delaware Athletics.
Hylton's most recent position was friends association manager. In this role, she served as a liaison to the Friends Leaders of the Brown Varsity and Club Sport Associations and worked closely with coaches and alumni and parent volunteers to ensure that each organization was maximizing financial support for the athletic program.
Prior her arrival at Brown, Hylton was an intern at the Institute for International Sports where she served as the media relations and enrollment coordinator for the 2008 US Scholar Athlete Games held in Kingston, R.I.
A native of Rochester Hills, Mich., Hylton earned an undergraduate degree in organizational communication and public relations at Western Michigan and an MBA from Bryant University.
She also has sports-related experience, completing professional internships with the WNBA’s Detroit Shock and St. Patrick’s Athletic FC in Dublin, Ireland.
