Spirit of the Game

The Equestrian Club is not only a competitive showing team, but a club of horse lovers. No experience is required and anyone is welcome to join.

Organizational Meeting(s)

Meetings are typically every Thursday evening in the Perkins Student Center. For exact meeting information, see our website.


All who are interested are accepted , men and women alike. Currently we have over 100 members.

Practice Information

The club rides at two barns - Granite Springs (Chesapeake, MD) and Farideh Farm (Cochranville, PA). Lesson registration, where you pick can the day and time of your lesson, occurs at the beginning of each semester.

National and/or Regional Affiliation

We compete in the IHSA, Intercollegiate Horse Show Association in Zone 4, Region 4.

Membership Requirements

Team A: try-outs are required, one lesson a week required, one workout a week required, weekly meetings attendance required.

Team B: one lesson a week is suggested, must ride the week before a show, team workouts are suggested, weekly meeting attendance required.

Non-Showing: lesson at your own discretion, attending one meeting a month is required.

Equipment Required

It is suggested the individual own: a helmet, riding boots or a boot with a heel. The club/barns supply: all tack, horses, some show clothing (English and Western). Members usually can borrow show clothing from other members if they do not own their own.
