Spirit of the Game
University of Delaware Baseball Club is about having talented players continue to enjoy and play the game they love at the collegiate level. We also participate in social and fundraising activities on campus.
Tryouts are held every Fall for the Fall and Spring seasons. For those wishing to know more about the team, or if they missed this year's tryouts, they should contact the current President.
While it may vary from season to season, the club typically holds a roster of 16-22 men.
Practices are held Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 3:45-5:45 at "Hill Field". Hill field is on the corner of Casho Mill Rd. and Barksdale Rd., about a 10 minute walk south from Rodney and Dickinson residence halls. Home games are either played at Bob Hannah Stadium or Hill Field, depending on availability.
National and/or Regional Affiliation
The club is part of the North Atlantic Region (NAR) East Conference in the NCBA Division I. For more information, go to www.clubbaseball.org.
Practices are mandatory; however exceptions are made for unavoidable class conflicts. Besides the weekly practices, games are played on Saturday and/or Sunday. Players are expected to be at these games (travel can be up to 2 hours away from campus). Dues for new players are around $220, while returning players have a reduced cost of around $100 since their uniform is already purchased. Annual fundraising helps to bring these dues down further.
Players will need to provide their own glove and cleats. The team has several bats, batting helmets, and several dozen baseballs.
