CAA Champion Delaware Menís Basketball Team to be Honored at Wilmington Blue Rocks Home Opener Tonight; Ross to Throw Out First Pitch
WILMINGTON, Del. -- The Colonial Athletic Association champion University of Delaware men’s basketball squad and head coach Monté Ross will be honored prior to the Wilmington Blue Rocks’ 2014 home opener Tuesday night at Frawley Stadium.
Ross, who will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, will be joined on the field by members of the Blue Hen basketball team before the Blue Rocks’ 6:35 p.m. contest vs. the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
The Blue Hens went 25-10 during the 2013-14 season, tying for the second most wins in a UD single season. Delaware captured the CAA tournament championship with three victories in Baltimore, including a dramatic 75-74 comeback win over William & Mary in the final. UD then earned the No. 13 seed in the East Region, falling to fourth-seeded and No. 22 ranked Michigan State, 93-78, in an NCAA tournament second round game in Spokane, Wash.
