GAMEDAY UPDATES – Delaware vs. Villanova

Traffic & Parking:  Season and single game parking lots open at 11:30 a.m. for you to enjoy tailgating with your fellow Blue Hens.  Single game parking is available for $15. Please review the entrances and traffic flow patterns prior to arrival to avoid delays:

  • Entrance A – Entrance off of Rt.896/S. College Ave. (North Bound ONLY) for Gold VIP, Gold Road, Gold Legends and Gold Champions ONLY.
  • Entrance B – Entrance off of Rt.896/S. College Ave. (North Bound ONLY) for Blue VIP, Blue Road, Blue Legends, Blue Champion and Gold Handicapped Reserved ONLY.
  • Entrance C – Entrance off of Rt.896/S. College Ave. (North Bound ONLY) for Blue Hen parking permits.
  • Entrance D – Entrance off of Rt.896/S. College Ave. (North Bound ONLY) Single game parking for the Ice Arena Lot, Townsend Hall, and Field #9.
  • Entrance E – Entrance off of Rt. 896/S. College Ave. Single game parking for the Ice Arena lot. Townsend Hall and Field #9.
  • Entrance F – Entrance off Route 4 (West Bound ONLY) for The Nest, All-Stars, All-American VIP and Victory VIP parking permits, ADA single gameday parking – NO OTHER SINGLE GAME ACCESS PERMITTED.

Delaware Stadium Box Office Opens (West Side): 11:30 a.m.

Delaware Stadium Gates Open: 1:30 p.m.

Team Walk: Beginning at 1:10 p.m. Take a break from your tailgate to greet members of the Blue Hen football team during pregame as they march down Stadium Drive escorted by the Delaware Marching Band, cheerleaders and spirit groups to their locker room. The gameday walk will begin approximately two and twenty minutes before kickoff each game in front of Delaware Stadium at Route 896/Stadium Drive.

Anchor Buick GMC Fan Zone: Open 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. In front of Delaware Stadium
Fan Zone has a new location this year, in front of Delaware Stadium at the West side entrance. The family-friendly fan zone is full of good times with music from DJ Andrew, giveaways, inflatables, face painting, and interactives. This experience is complimentary and open to the public.

Delaware Beer Gardens: New this fall, the Beer Gardens offered on football gamedays in Delaware Stadium will be open to all adults over the age of 21, under a special 1-year pilot program. This initiative is intended to enhance the fan experience. The gardens will continue to be located in the southeast and northwest corners of Delaware Stadium. Alcohol service will conclude at the end of halftime.

Designated Driver Booth: Delaware Football wants everyone to get home safely. Fans may visit the Coors Light Designated Driver Booth located on the west concourse of Delaware Stadium, and receive a complimentary soft drink if they pledge to be the designated driver for their group. Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license.

Stadium Policies: Patrons are permitted to bring in one unopened bottle of water per guest. In order to ensure the safety of our guests, all bags will be checked as patrons enter the facility. Please plan accordingly as long lines may exist.  Delaware Stadium has a No Re-Entry policy. Patrons experiencing an emergency or who must exit for medical reasons may go to the main Guest Relations kiosk inside the Stadium on the West side for assistance. UD reserves the right to inspect and remove any packages and containers. All persons are subject to search, which includes clothing, jackets, bags and purses.  The stadium will not be responsible for items left at any of the entry gates.  Fans should return restricted articles to their vehicle.

Women’s Basketball Game & Parking Info: Following the Delaware vs. Villanova football game we are hosting Women’s Basketball vs. St. Bonaventure at 8 p.m.  All fans are invited to join us free of charge for the Women’s Basketball Game, just bring your ticket to the Bob Carpenter Center Box office to redeem your football ticket stub for a women’s basketball game ticket.  Fans that have preferred season parking for women’s basketball will be directed to park in lot 105, located adjacent to the West Gym of the Bob Carpenter Center.  Fans attending the football game are welcome to leave their vehicles in their football parking spot if attending both games.  General women’s basketball game day parking will remain free for the game in all standard basketball game parking lots.

Ticket Scanning: In an effort to enhance the game day experience for fans, the 2016 football season marks the first year in which tickets will be scanned at Blue Hen home games.  Scanning tickets will ultimately speed entry into the stadium, cut down on counterfeit tickets and allow the university to keep track of ticket use.  In addition, Blue Hen fans will now have the option of using mobile and print at home tickets.  For any game day ticket related issues, fans are encouraged to visit the Stadium Box Office on the West Side of Delaware Stadium.

Season Ticket Member Benefits: UD Football season ticket members are able to show their Benefit Card received with their season ticket package at the UD Bookstore Campus Shop location in the stadium to receive a 10% discount. Also, if you renewed your season tickets by the Early Hen Renewal Deadline this past spring, be sure to bring your issued Blue Hens Bucks for redemption at the stadium on gameday at any location that accepts flex payment.

Blue Hens Hospitality Village (located at corner of Routes 896 & 4 in front of The BOB). Patrons looking to reserve a private tent in Blue Hens Hospitality Village are recommended to do so at least two weeks in advance, as space is limited and based on availability.  Blue Hens Hospitality Village, which is located between The BOB and South College Avenue, is a turnkey solution for fans looking to host a private tailgate. Giveaways: Upon exiting the game there will be McDonald’s a coupon giveaway.

UD Student Entrance: UD students should enter through the southwest corner of the stadium. No ticket is needed, only a valid UD ID.  One admission per eligible student.  Gameday Express Buses will run pregame through kick-off from the following locations:  Christiana Commons; Gore; & Perkins Student Center beginning 2 hours prior to kick-off and will begin running routes from the stadium to drop off students beginning 90 minutes after kick-off.

Group Sales & Experiences: Groups who are eligible for group gifts can pick up their gifts at the main Guest Relations kiosk directly inside the West Gate entrance of the stadium during the second half of the game. Keep an eye on the scoreboard after the band performance concludes at halftime to see your group welcomed to the game.

Guest Relations: The main Guest Relations kiosk is located directly inside the West Entrance of Delaware Stadium and is open two hours prior to kick-off through the conclusion of the game.  Lost and found items, group sales & group experience questions, and emergency re-entry along with other general fan inquiries are all handled at the main kiosk inside the stadium. There will be an additional Guest Relations kiosk located directly outside the West Entrance that will open four hours prior to kickoff through kickoff for general questions.

Visiting Team Guests: Guests whose names have been left on a pass list from the visiting school and/or who need to pick up tickets purchased directly through the visiting school, should do so at the East Box Office on the East side of Delaware Stadium.

UD Player Guests/HS Coaches/Non-Football Recruits: Should enter through the pass gate on the west side of Delaware Stadium adjacent to the Delaware Stadium Box Office.

UD Football Recruits: Should enter through the main entrance of The BOB and meet designated staff in the main lobby.

Halftime In-Stadium: Stay in your seats for a halftime performance by the University of Delaware Marching Band performance.

Postgame In-Stadium: After singing the alma mater with the football team, remain in the stands for the postgame show featuring the UD Marching Band.

Seatback Rentals: Seatback rentals may be purchased on gameday immediately inside the East and West main entrances. They are $7 per seat and are cash only on gameday.

Tobacco Free Policy: The University of Delaware is a Tobacco-Free Campus applicable to all members of the University community and on all UD property. The use of all tobacco products, (smoking, snuff & the emerging e-cigarettes) on University property is prohibited to ensure a “Tobacco-Free UD.”  For details, click here.

Tailgating: Patrons may tailgate beginning Four (4) hours prior to kick-off and may resume postgame for up to two (2) hours after the conclusion of the game. Tailgates must be limited to the immediate space behind the patron's vehicle and driveways must be kept clear at all times. • Sitting in a location other than the Guest’s ticketed seat
• Displays of affection not appropriate in a public setting

• Any disruption to the progress of the event by Guests’ actions
