MIDLOTHIAN, Va. -- Blue Hen senior Marc Oliveri is tied for fifth place in the individual standings while the University of Delaware men’s golf team sits in seventh place following the second day of the Colonial Athletic Association Championship.

The final two rounds of the tournament were scheduled for Saturday, but third round play was suspended in the late afternoon. The final round of the championship is scheduled to resume on Sunday at 9 a.m.

After carding a 290 team round on Friday, Delaware fired a 289 score during Saturday’s opening round and ended the day in seventh place out of nine teams at nine over par. Charleston leads the tournament with a 16 under par score, while Towson is second at 12 under and UNCW sits in third place at 11 under.

Oliveri fired a four under par 68 during his second round on the par 72, 7,035-yard Monacan Front Nine and Buckingham Back Nine at Salisbury Country Club, and was one over par through the front nine during his final round. He currently is tied for fifth place in the standings at four under par, three shots behind the co-leaders. Oliveri’s second round 68, which featured four birdies and no bogeys, tied his career low.

Parker Derby of Charleston and Spencer Alexander of Towson are each seven under par through six holes in their final round, while Matt Cowgill of JMU and Reese McFarlane of UNCW sit at five under.

Jack Gianniny, who carded a 75 during Saturday’s opening round, is tied for 25th place at three over par while Kieran Purcell, who shot an even par 72, is tied for 30th place at four over par.

Bobby Diforio currently sits in 35th place with an eight over par score, while Mark Benevento is tied for 40th place at 12 over par.
