NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware will continue its home Colonial Athletic Association baseball schedule this weekend against Hofstra.

The Blue Hens and Pride will kick-off the series Friday afternoon at 3 p.m., before finishing the series with a pair of 1 p.m. games Saturday and Sunday at Bob Hannah Stadium.

Delaware enters the game leading the CAA in 10 overall categories, including batting average and earned run average.

Week in Review:
On Wednesday, the Blue Hens (17-14, 4-5 CAA) defeated Penn 10-9. Delaware took a 6-0 lead after one inning of play, and a 7-1 lead after four, but ultimately fell behind 8-7 heading to the bottom of the seventh.

In that bottom of the seventh, Penn walked the bases loaded with one out, giving Kevin Mohollen a golden opportunity. Mohollen came through for Delaware, smoking a ground ball to first base that glanced off the fielder’s glove. The error allowed one base runner to score. On the same play a throwing error scored the go-ahead run.

Reliever Burk FitzPatrick worked around a solo home run and a bases loaded two-out jam to record his second save of the season.

Scouting the Foes:
Hofstra has played one of the toughest schedules in the CAA so far this season, having played four games against nationally-ranked St. Johns and LSU.  So far in conference this season the Pride (8-22, 2-4 CAA) have dropped two of three each to Charleston and Towson.

Overall Steven Foster paces the pride in multiple categories, including average (.345), hits (40), at-bats (116), doubles (9), and runs scored (18). As a team the Pride are hitting just .256 and have hit four home runs in 30 games. Hofstra’s team ERA is 5.64 entering the weekend.

All-Time Series:
Delaware leads the all-time series between the two teams 68-24. The Hens swept Hofstra on the road last season, outscoring the Pride 29-11. Delaware has won four straight and seven of the last nine meetings. Hofstra's last win was a 12-7 victory at Bob Hannah Stadium in 2015.

Pitching Matchup:
