WILMINGTON, N.C. -- The University of Delaware will continue Colonial Athletic Association baseball action this weekend at UNCW.

First pitch Friday is scheduled for 6 p.m. while Saturday's game will begin at 2 p.m. The series finale on Sunday will start at 1 p.m.

Delaware has won five of its last six CAA games and has won seven out of eight overall. The Hens are currently just two games behind first place Northeastern and lead the CAA in both batting average (3.19) and earned run average (4.68)

Week In Review:
The Blue Hens (23-15, 9-6 CAA) went 2-1 over the past week. The Hens defeated Elon last Friday night 11-2 before splitting a doubleheader. The victory over the Phoenix in the nightcap assured Delaware the head-to-head tiebreaker over Elon.

On Friday night, Delaware designated hitter Doug Trimble went 4-5 with three runs scored and three RBI and hit his fifth home run of the season in the fifth. On the mound, Nick Spadafino contributed 5.2 pristine innings to earn his fourth win of the season.

Saturday, the Hens and Phoenix played a pair of games. In the opener, Elon behind a seven-run sixth inning defeated UD 15-2. In the nightcap, the Hens bounced back, defeating the Phoenix 3-2. Diaz Nardo hit his fifth home run of the season in the first game while Nick Patten and Brian Mayer homered in the second game. Hens' reliever James Meeker pitched three innings of relief to earn his team-leading fifth win and Burk FitzPatrick recorded the final out to earn his third save of the year.

Scouting the Foes:
UNCW enters the weekend with a record of 19-21 (7-5 CAA). Last weekend the Seahawks won two out of three games at Hofstra. After defeating Hofstra 7-4 in the opener, the Pride rebounded to take the second game 6-3. In the rubber-game, the Seahawks hit six home runs in the eighth, defeating Hofstra 20-7.

After hitting 21 home runs and driving in 91 runs last season, catcher Nick Feight has hit 10 homers so far this season, driving in 35 runs over the Seahawks 40 games.

As a team, UNCW has socked a CAA-best 57 home runs so far this season and has produced the second lowest ERA (5.00) in the conference.
