NEWARK, Del. – For the first time in nearly a month, the University of Delaware baseball team will return to Bob Hannah Stadium as the Hens host Towson in a critical Colonial Athletic Association series.

Originally scheduled to play Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the Blue Hens and Tigers will instead face-off in a doubleheader Friday, May 12, beginning at 1 p.m. The two squads will conclude the series Sunday at 1 p.m.

Week in Review:
The Blue Hens (25-20, 10-8 CAA) are coming off a 1-2 week. After dropping the first two-games to North Carolina State 7-0 and 7-1, UD rebounded to take down the Wolf Pack 5-4. The victory was head coach Jim Sherman's 500th victory as head coach.

In the win, Kyle Baker went 2-4 with a pair of runs batted in. On the mound, reliever James Meeker and Burk FitzPatrick pitched five innings and four innings respectively. FitzPatrick also recorded a single when he took a turn at-bat in the ninth.

Scouting the Foes:
Towson (19-29, 5-13 CAA) enters the weekend having won back-to-back games, defeating UMBC and Maryland Eastern Shore last week. Towson has lost 9 of its last 11 conference games, including two-out-of-three to James Madison last weekend.

The Tigers are led by Richie Palacios, who is batting a team-best .333, with a .420 on-base percentage. Palacios has stolen a CAA-best 19 bags this season, having been caught just twice. The 2016 CAA Rookie of the Year was named to the preseason All-CAA squad.

TU is batting .247 so far this season and has produced an ERA of 6.09.

All-Time Series:
Delaware leads the all-time series by a 82-41 margin. The Blue Hens have taken two-of-three vs. Towson in back-to-back seasons. Last year, after dropping the opener 10-9 in 13 innings, the Hens rebounded to win the final two games of the series.
