WILMINGTON, N.C.  -- The University of Delaware baseball program kicks off the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament Wednesday against a familiar foe as Delaware and College of Charleston will play at 1 p.m.

The game, which was originally scheduled for 11 a.m., was pushed back due to poor field conditions from excessive rain at UNCW's Brooks Field.

For the fourth time in seven days, the Blue Hens (30-21, 15-9 CAA) and College of Charleston (26-29, 13-11 CAA) will meet. Delaware earned the No. 4 seed in the double elimination tournament while the Cougars earned the fifth seed.

UD defeated Charleston two games out of three last weekend in Newark. The Hens defeated Charleston 17-4 and 6-1 in the opening two games of the series. In the series finale on Saturday, the Cougars, behind a seven-run seventh inning, defeated Delaware 11-7.

Other CAA first round action Wednesday will include No. 3 William & Mary facing-off with No. 6 Elon. The losers of Wednesday's opening round games will be moved to the loser's bracket, and will play in an elimination game Wednesday at 8 p.m.

No. 1 seed Northeastern and No. 2 seed UNCW received first-round byes. The winner of Delaware-Charleston winner will face Northeastern Thursday morning at 11 a.m. while the winner of William & Mary vs. Elon game will face UNCW Thursday at 3 p.m.

Delaware concluded the regular with six players in the top 13 in batting average and four Blue Hens finished in the top-10. Jeremy Ake finished third (.354), Calvin Scott finished fourth (.350), Doug Trimble sixth (.343), Jordan Glover was 10th (.331), while Brian Mayer was 12th (.328) and Nick Tierno was 13th (.325).

The Blue Hens are leading the CAA in batting average (.314) and ERA (4.48), and could become the first squad since James Madison (2002) to lead the conference in both categories during the same season.

All-Time Series: College of Charleston leads the all-time series 11-5, including this season's three matchups.

Pitching Matchup: Delaware RHP Ron Marinaccio (3-2, 2.19 ERA) vs. Charleston LHP Evan Sisk (5-1, 3.33 ERA).
