NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men’s basketball team’s highly-anticipated home game this Saturday, Dec. 9th at 7 p.m. against ninth-ranked Notre Dame is officially sold out, the UD athletic department announced Tuesday.

A total of 250 student tickets remain for the game and will be distributed to the first 250 students who attend Wednesday’s home game vs. Buffalo. Students are only eligible if they have not yet received a ticket. Students must have obtained a Notre Dame ticket in advance to attend Saturday’s game.

Tickets for this game were made available to season ticket members during the season ticket renewal process. An incredible 99% of season ticket members renewed their seats from the previous year and UD added nearly 600 new season tickets for 2017-18. Four-game mini-plan holders also had the opportunity to add the Notre Dame game to their order.

Bob Carpenter Center doors will open at 5 p.m. on Saturday, one hour earlier than normal.

The game will be the 39th men’s basketball sellout in the 26-year history of the Bob Carpenter Center, and the first since the home contest vs. Drexel on Feb. 23, 2014 that was part of a men’s and women’s doubleheader. The last single game men’s basketball sellout came against 10th-ranked Saint Joseph’s on Dec. 30, 2003.

The Irish will be the highest ranked opponent in BCC history, and just the fourth top 10 opponent to ever visit Newark. The Blue Hens hosted third-ranked Virginia at the Delaware Field House on Jan. 5, 1981, sixth-ranked Temple at the Carpenter Sports Building on Jan. 28, 1956, and the 10th-ranked Hawks in 2003.

UD will be hosting its second Atlantic Coast Conference opponent in BCC history, and the first since Virginia visited Newark on Nov. 25, 1997.

Delaware will welcome back Fighting Irish head coach Mike Brey, who guided the Blue Hens for five seasons from 1995-2000 and led UD to a pair of America East Conference titles and NCAA Tournament appearances in 1998 and 1999. He will face current Blue Hen head coach Martin Ingelsby, who played for Brey during his senior season in South Bend in 2000-01 and later served 13 seasons on the Irish coaching staff, helping lead Notre Dame to the 2015 ACC Tournament title and a pair of NCAA Elite Eight appearances.

Fans not attending the game should watch the nationally-televised broadcast on CBS Sports Network (locally, channel 854 on Comcast, 594 on Verizon Fios, and 158 on Dish Network).

The game will be a BLUE OUT, as all fans will receive a free UD t-shirt and are encouraged to dress in blue attire. A cobranded commemorative ND/UD shirt will be available at the Barnes & Noble UD Bookstore on Main Street for $27.98. Fans can also purchase the shirt at the game or online here.

Tickets are currently on sale for the remaining men’s basketball non-conference home games. Additionally, UD is holding a Holiday Sale for CAA games from Dec. 8 through Dec. 22. Fans will save up to $5 per ticket for conference games! Click here to visit our Online Ticket Office.
