NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The University of Delaware men’s basketball team will be the seventh seed in the 2018 Colonial Athletic Association Tournament and will face Elon in the first round on Saturday.

The Blue Hens (13-18, 6-12 CAA) will battle the 10th-seeded Phoenix (14-17, 6-12 CAA) Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum during the second game of the championship.

The teams split two regular season meetings this season, with each squad winning on its home court. The Phoenix posted an 89-76 victory at Alumni Gym on Feb. 3, before the Blue Hens recorded a 72-57 win at the Bob Carpenter Center on Feb. 17. Saturday’s game will be the first postseason meeting between Delaware and Elon.

Saturday’s other first round game will feature No. 8 seed Drexel taking on ninth-seeded James Madison at 4 p.m.

Top-seeded Charleston will take on the winner of the Drexel/James Madison game in Sunday’s first quarterfinal at 12 noon, while No. 4 seed William & Mary and No. 5 seed Towson will play at 2:30 p.m. Second-seeded Northeastern will face the Delaware/Elon winner at 6 p.m., before No. 3 seed Hofstra and No. 6 seed UNCW wrap up the day at 8:30 p.m.

The semifinals will take place on Monday at 6 and 8:30 p.m. while Tuesday’s championship game begins at 7 p.m.

Saturday’s first round games and all four quarterfinal games will be available online at CAA.TV, while the semifinals and championship game will be televised nationally by CBS Sports Network.
