Annual Giving
Annual contributions to the UDAF or one of our 21 varsity sports are a critical component to supporting each program, our student-athletes and coaches so that they have the necessary resources to compete for CAA Championships and represent UD at the national level. Annual donations are put to immediate use in the operating budgets of your favorite team(s) and fund essential needs of each of our programs including recruiting, training, travel, equipment, and more.
Endowments
Endowed funds may be created with a minimum donor commitment of $50,000 given over a period of up to five years. Endowed funds last in perpetuity and are invested to protect the enduring impact of the donor's intentions.
Scholarships: Each year, the University of Delaware awards more than 220 scholarships to Blue Hens Student-Athletes. Endowed scholarship funds provide crucial financial support to allow Delaware Athletics to continue to recruit and graduate talented student-athletes.
Coaching: Our success depends on our ability to hire and retain the best coaches. A head coach's leadership role in developing our student-athletes in all aspects of life is a core component of the mission of Delaware Athletics.
Program: Named program endowments demonstrate commitment to our programs current and future successes and help support the sport's operating budget.

Capital Gifts
Capital project gifts provide the revenue necessary to build and maintain first-class facilities in which UD student-athletes train and compete. To learn more about current capital priorities, please call us at (302) 831-6276 for more information.
Planned Gifts
There are a variety of giving options you can use to make a gift in support of UD student-athletes. These gifts include charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts. Gifts such as bequests and other beneficiary designations from your retirement account or life insurance can also be earmarked as a future gift to the UDAF. **Your gift is tax deductible as provided by law. Any portion of your gift that is designated to Athletics and gives you the right to purchase priority seating and/or parking at an athletic event is subject to IRS rules (IRC 170 (I)) which limits the tax deductible portion of that gift to 80% of the amount contributed. Please consult a tax advisor regarding charitable deductions.
