TEAM PLAY: Through the first two games of the season Will Hirschmann, Charlie Kitchen, and Andrew Romagnoli rank in the top-ten in assists in the CAA, and Delaware as a team ranks first in the conference. Those same three players also rank in the top-ten in points per game. Delaware will look to continue their selfless offensive play to beat a strong Monmouth defense that helped lead their team to the NCAA Tournament in 2017.

DEFENSE: Saturday’s game will feature a battle of two top defensive programs. Delaware ranks fifth in the nation in caused turnovers per game, Monmouth ranks first. In the CAA, Delaware ranks second in ground balls per game, Monmouth is first in the nation. Delaware is second in the CAA in clearing percentage, Monmouth is first in the nation. The Blue Hens’ offensive leaders are going to keep as much pressure on the Monmouth defense as possible.

A BLUE HEN WIN WOULD…: With a win against the Hawks, Delaware would grab its first 3-0 start since the 2011 season.

HAVING OUR HANDS FULL: Delaware’s defense will keep their eyes on Monmouth captain and senior attackman, Bryce Wasserman. He scored three goals and tallied an assist in last year’s meeting en-route to breaking the single-season points, goals, and assists records for Monmouth. Wasserman scored three goals for Monmouth in their season opener against 18th ranked Princeton University.
