PICK YOUR POISON: Facing one of the top-15 defenses in the country, Delaware’s potent offense showed its potential, finding the back of the net 12 times with three different guys having multi-goal performances, led by Dean DiSimone’s five-goal day. The Blue Hens enter today’s game ranked seventh in the country in scoring offense with four different players averaging two goals or more through the first four games.

HERE HE COMES TO SAVE THE DAY: It was evident last year that Matt DeLuca could be one of the best to ever play in goal for Delaware. He has continued his outstanding start to his Blue Hen career, racking up double-digit saves in the first four games of his sophomore season and currently leads the CAA and ranks fifth in the country in saves per game with 12.75 per contest.

MISS YOU WHEN YOU’RE GONE: Today’s contest will be the Blue Hens’ last home game until CAA play starts on March 31st. It’s the last home non-conference schedule of 2018 with Delaware heading to Binghamton, Johns Hopkins and Rutgers in each of the next three Saturdays.

DAAAA BEARS: A pesky Mercer squad visits Delaware stadium looking for its second win of the 2018 season. The Bears are 1-4 this year, but have already played two OT games and are coming off 14-7 loss at the hands of top-10 ranked North Carolina, in which the Bears played them close. Shutting down Mercer starts with senior Scott Baird who has scored 11 goals in the first five games.

  • This is only the second all-time meeting between the two programs.
  • Delaware won the first meeting back in 2012, 14-2. It was only the Bears’ second season of existence.
