PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The University of Delaware women's rowing squad battled the rain Saturday morning at the 2017 Dad Vail Regatta held on the Schuylkill River.

"We had another good day today on the river," Delaware head coach Kevin Gruber said. "Overall we had a great two days in Philly. The whole team raced hard. Now we're focused on finishing the spring strong at CAAs tomorrow."

The Hens' placed all six competing squads into Saturday morning's Grand Finals, where Delaware's Second Varsity Fours (7:41.21) placed first, the Third Varsity Eights (7:00.16) placed second, and the Second Varsity Eights (6:53.92) and Varsity Fours (7:40.79) each placed fifth.

In addition, Delaware's Novice Fours (7:58.81) and Varsity Eights (6:43.99) crews each placed sixth.
