NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware senior quarterback Pat Devlin, who led the No. 1 ranked Blue Hens to a 45-27 victory over No. 14 Massachusetts to clinch a share of the Colonial Athletic Association tilte Saturday, is the National 5 & 10 Stores Inc. Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for Nov. 15.
Devlin, a graduate student in finance, was 16-of-22 passing for a total of 240 yards and four touchdowns as the Blue Hens (9-1) won their second straight win and secured at share of the league title for the first time since 2004. Delaware can win the CAA title outright and earn the league's automatic NCAA Tournament berth win a win over rival Villanova this Saturday at Delaware Stadium at 1 p.m. The game will be televised live throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region on The Comcast Network.
Devlin, also one of 10 remaining finalists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, rushed eight times in the win for a career-best 55 yards. The Delaware quarterback, who now leads the league in passing efficiency at 152.5, completed his four touchdown passes to four different receivers.
For his efforts, the native of Downingtown, Pa. (Downingtown East High School) was also named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week and the Blue Hen Touchdown Club Offensive Player of the Week. He has now been honored twice as the CAA Player of the Week this season and five times in his Blue Hen career.
