Hagins, an undeclared major from Roanoke, Va.(William Fleming High School), led Delaware to a 1-1 week as the Blue Hens travelled to the San Francisco Bay Area and came away with a split at the 44th annual Cable Car Classic, knocking off host Santa Clara 54-53 in the first round before falling to American University 83-71 in the championship game.
For his performance over the two games, Hagins earned a spot on the all-tournament team.
The 6-8 sophomore scored seven points and pulled eight rebounds while also contributing two steals and two blocked shots against Santa Clara and followed with a 17-point effort vs. American as he converted 7 of 12 shots from the field, pulled eight rebounds, and dished out three assists.
For the tournament, Hagins hit on 10 of 16 shots from the field, was 4 of 6 from the foul line, and averaged 12.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.
Delaware (6-5, 1-0 CAA) will continue action this week as the Blue Hens resume Colonial Athletic Association action at George Mason on Jan. 3 and home vs. William & Mary on Jan. 5.
