Athlete of the Week: Breanna Stemler (WSoccer)

NEWARK, Del. -- Breanna Stemler, who led the University of Delaware women's soccer team to a pair of shutout victories last week, is the National 5 & 10 Stores Inc. Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for Oct. 25.
Stemler, a junior goalkeeper from Horsham, Pa. (Hatboro-Horsham High School), led the Blue Hens to Colonial Athletic Association home victories of 1-0 over George Mason on Friday night and 1-0 over Towson on Sunday at the Delaware Mini-Stadium.
The fitness management major recorded 10 saves on the week, turning back seven shots in the win over George Mason and three shots in the victory of Towson. For her efforts, she was also named the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week.
The two wins upped Delaware's record to 6-10-1 overall (2-6-1 CAA) heading into the season finale Oct. 30 at Drexel.
For the season, Stemler has appeared in 15 games with 15 starts and has recorded a 1.37 goals against average and .753 save percentage (64 total saves) in 1,382 minutes of play.
