KAREN EMAS

One of the greatest lacrosse players in NCAA-history, Emas had few equals on the field. She still holds national records for goals scored in a career (310) and points scored in a career (420) and owns 15 other school records. She earned All-American honors three straight years in 1982-84, leading the Blue Hens to two national titles. She was a member of the U.S. National Lacrosse squad, was Most Valuable Player of the 1983 NCAA- Tournament, and was a two-time East Coast Conference Most Valuable Player. She was named the 1983-84 UD Outstanding Senior Female Athlete. A 1985 graduate of Delaware, she is currently head field hockey and lacrosse coach at Swarthmore (Pa.) College.
