Anthony Terranova
Marketing Intern

Anthony Terranova, who previously worked in athletics at Towson University, the U.S. Naval Academy, and Eastern Illinois University, begins his first year at the University of Delaware after being named the marketing intern in July 2011.
Terranova will work closely with UD Director of Athletics Marketing Kristy Fletcher and will be the primary contact for men's and women's soccer and field hockey in the fall. His winter and spring responsibilities will be determined at a later date. His work will include developing and executing marketing plans, working with Ticket Operations to spearhead group sales initiatives, and marketing and implementing the Future Hens Club.
"I am very excited to join the University of Delaware’s Athletics Marketing staff," said Terranova. "The Blue Hens have an elite athletic program that runs deep in spirit and traditions. I look forward to bringing my experiences to this great sports environment and growing the fan base by enhancing the game day atmosphere.”
A native of Middletown, N.J., he earned his bachelor's degree in sport management from Towson in 2008 and earned his master's degree in sport administration at Eastern Illinois in May, 2011.

"We are looking forward to his creativity in developing exciting new group sales promotions, growing the Blue Hens family with a focus on the Future Hens Club, and enhancing the overall fan experience. He will play a key role in the success of our external unit for the upcoming seasons and we look forward to him being a Blue Hen.”
He most recently worked at Eastern Illinois where he served as marketing graduate assistant since 2009 and was the athletics marketing contact for the volleyball, men's soccer, and softball programs, developing marketing plans, participating in gameday promotions, and creating gameday scripts, musical segments, and in-game announcements. He also administered the marketing section of the athletics website, successfully managed the Panther Pack kids’ club, and supervised and mentored undergraduate interns.
He also developed marketing and promotional activities for the football, basketball, and baseball programs as well and developed the winning marketing strategy for the NCAA’s 2010 and 2011 “Pack the House” Campaigns. EIU was the Ohio Valley Conference winner and one of 33 schools recognized nationally.
Terranova served as a marketing and promotions intern at Navy from 2008 until 2009 where he oversaw marketing and promotions efforts for the women's volleyball and baseball programs and assisted with football, soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. He also managed the “Billy the Kid” fan club and saw its membership increase by 20 percent. He developed and coordinated events to enhance athlete and team visibility, including personal appearances, autograph sessions, and partnering with organizations including the Special Olympics and the State of Virginia.
While a student at Towson, Terranova served as an athletics marketing intern in the spring of 2008 and worked closely with the baseball, men's soccer, and football teams. He also served as an intern with the Tiger Athletic Fund in the spring of 2007 and was worked with the facilities and event management department in 2006.
His past experience also includes internships with the Bowie (Md.) Baysox, the AA affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles; the Lakewood Blue Claws, the A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies; and the National Football League's Baltimore Ravens.
Terranova resides in Newark, Del.
