Nicholas "Nick" Vasiliou, who previously worked in athletics at Campbell University, begins his first year at the University of Delaware after being named the marketing intern in August 2012.

Vasiliou will work closely with Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing & Promotions, Kristy Fletcher and Assistant Director of Athletics Marketing Lauren Baker with football and basketball marketing, and will be the primary contact for men's and women's soccer and field hockey in the fall. His winter and spring responsibilities will include swimming & diving and women’s lacrosse.

His work will include developing and executing marketing plans, working with UD Ticket Operations to spearhead group sales initiatives, and marketing and implementing the Future Hens Club.

"I am excited to join the University of Delaware’s Athletics Marketing staff," said Vasiliou. “The Blue Hens athletic program has an excellent tradition and a sterling reputation as one of the nation’s elite programs. I look forward to increasing fan awareness of the promotions the department will implement throughout the year.”

A native of Fort Mill S.C., Vasiliou earned his bachelor's degree in sport management from Campbell in 2012.

He most recently worked at the Big South Conference where he served as marketing intern for Campbell University. While at the Big South, Vasiliou spearheaded campus awareness of conference marketing initiatives, directed on campus visits with conference officials, and provided conference sponsors with fulfillment of sponsorship duties.

While a student at Campbell, Vasiliou served as an athletics marketing intern from 2010 through 2012 and worked closely with the men and women’s soccer, volleyball, women’s basketball, and baseball programs. He developed marketing plans, participated in game day promotions, and created game day scripts, musical segments, and in-game announcements.

While serving as marketing intern for the Camels, Vasiliou also provided play-by-play and color commentary for select women’s basketball and volleyball matches.

Vasiliou also served as Vice President for the Campbell University Club Rugby from 2009-2011 and his volunteer activities included providing media services assistance at the 2011 and 2012 NCAA Women's Basketball Regional tournaments.

Vasiliou resides in Newark, Del.
