Maggie Hayon

Maggie Hayon joined the University of Delaware as an Assistant Sports Information Director in November 2012. She serves as the primary media contact for the women’s basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, men’s and women’s tennis and volleyball teams.
Hayon came to the Blue Hens after spending time as the Director of Sports Information at Delaware State University. While there, she worked with the school’s 18 sports and was the primary contact for women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country/track and field, equestrian, women’s golf, women’s soccer, softball and volleyball.
During her tenure, Hayon played a crucial role as DSU Athletics rolled out a redesigned website in August 2012. Additionally, she was key in developing media guides, posters and other various publications while enhancing the Hornets’ social media presence.
Prior to joining Delaware State, Hayon spent nearly two years at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore where she was the main contact for the men’s basketball, softball and men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams.
Hayon graduated from Marquette University in May 2008 with a B.A. in Public Relations and minor in Marketing. During her four years at MU, she worked for the Golden Eagles Athletic Department as an administrative student assistant and game-day staff.
Additionally, she spent two summers with the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club as a Media Relations Intern (2006) and Community Relations Intern (2007). Upon graduation from Marquette, Hayon completed an internship with Minor League Baseball’s Eugene Emeralds.
She is a native of Howards Grove, Wis. and is a doting aunt to her two-year-old nephew, Sullivan.
