Coaching Staff - Women's Rowing
Assistant Coach Jinny C. Jang

Jinny C. Jang, a former All-American coxswain who has coached at several different levels of women's rowing, was named the University of Delaware's first full-time assistant coach in September, 2010.
She will begin her second season on head coach Laura Slice's staff in 2011-12.
Jang earned her degree in american studies with an ethnic studies concentration from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn. in 2008. While at Wesleyan, Jang was a four-year standout as a coxswain and earned second team NCAA Division III All-American honors by the Collegiate Coaches Rowing Association.
She served as team captain as a senior and earned the school's Jones Award for outstanding achievement. She also earned the team's Coxswain Award presented to the upper class member of the crew who exhibits a high level of technical skill and consistency and through her support contributes to the cohesiveness for the team.
Jang began her coaching career at her alma mater during the 2008-09 season as an assistant coach. She recruited 21 walk-on student-athletes, the largest group in three years at the school, and coached the second novice crew to a second place finish at the New England Rowing Championships.
Most recently, Jang served as freshman girls' crew coach at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Md. and as head coach of development rowing at the Thompson Boat Center in Washington, D.C. While at Thompson, her duties included improving rowing skills and fitness of athletes who had recently completed their first year of rowing.
In addition to her coaching, Jang has served as a volunteer at St. Luke's Eldercare Solutions in Middletown, Conn., as a mentor to middle school students with the North End Action Team, as an intern with the American Youth Policy Forum, and as a resident advisor at Wesleyan University.
