Coaching Staff - Women's Rowing
Assistant Coach Stacey Van Order

Stacey Van Order, a former standout student-athletes and graduate assistant at Eastern Michigan University, was named a part-time assistant coach for the University of Delaware women’s rowing squad in August, 2011.
A native of Battle Creek, Mich. (Pennfield High School), Van Order replaces Laura Ratz, who earned her graduate degree at Delaware after serving under Slice for two seasons. She will begin working at Delaware on Aug. 16.
“I’m thrilled that Stacey will join our coaching staff this fall,” said Delaware head coach Laura Slice in making the announcement. “Stacey demonstrated at Eastern Michigan that she possesses a great ability to communicate her passion and knowledge of the sport to her athletes. I could not be more pleased to have someone of her ability and talent joining our coaching staff.”
She earned her degree in urban and regional planning with a minor in geography from Eastern Michigan in 2008 and recently completed her master’s degree in urban and regional planning in May, 2011 from EMU.
Van Order was a four-year member of the rowing team at Eastern Michigan, competing from 2004-08 for the Eagles and earning the team’s Varsity of the Year Award as a senior.
She served as a graduate assistant coach at EMU from 2008 until this past spring where her main responsibilities included coaching novice and coordinating the recruitment of prospective student-athletes. She has earned her Level III USRowing Coaches Certification.
Prior to coming to Delaware, Van Order worked for the city of Ypsilanti, Mich. in the planning and development department.
