Assistant Director of Athletics/Ticketing Operations

Trent Bartling was named Director of Athletic Ticketing Operations at the University of Delaware in June, 2010 and was promoted to the position of Assistant Director of Athletics for Ticketing Operations in August, 2012.
In his new role, Bartling will continue to be responsible for all athletic ticketing as well as assuming oversight and management of all University and student ticketing services. The Bob Carpenter Center Box Office and the Delaware Athletics Ticket Office have been consolidated to one operating unit in order to increase efficiencies and enhance service overseen by Bartling.
Bartling will also now administer all aspects of ticketing including season, single game and special events as well as managing the day to day operations and financial planning of the ticket office.
Among his responsibilities is evaluating and improving department efficiencies, supervising and training ticket office staff, developing and monitoring policies and procedures as they pertain to ticketing, increasing the athletics ticket customer base through identification of new buyers and corporate and group sales, and developing customer service strategies.
Bartling earned his bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in business and mass communications from Arizona State University in 2005 and has begun work on a master's degree in mass communication and journalism.
He also attended William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa and Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa before finishing his studies at Arizona State. He earned a baseball scholarship to William Penn and was a Dean's List student.
A native of Creston, Iowa, Bartling served for two years as a graduate assistant in the ticket office with the Arizona State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics in 2005-07 where he worked in tickets sales and operations for all Sun Devil Athletics.
He worked with season, single-game, and group tickets, as well as supervising staff, handling all aspects of student ticketing, and working extensively with marketing and development and the Sun Angel Foundation on a variety of fund raising projects.
He began his career in ticketing as a sales intern with the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association in 2005 and also served as a marketing assistant with SportsCastor Marketing, Inc. in Phoenix, handling game day marketing promotions during spring training for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim baseball team.
Bartling co-founded his own company, Wechannelnews.com, in 2007 in Springfield, Mo. where he designed business plans and developed financial schedules and successfully raised capital through various Angel networks nationwide.
Most recently he served as a credit card advisor with Chase Bank in Springfield, Mo., providing financial advice, strategy, and insight with card members.
