University of Delaware Athletics Places 236 Student-Athletes on 2010-11 CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll

NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware has placed 236 student-athletes on the Colonial Athletic Association Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll announced recently by the conference office.
Each year, the CAA honors those student-athletes who have posted either a cumulative 3.2 grade point average or a 3.2 gpa during the semester in which their team competes in its championship season.
Delaware had at least two athletes honored from each of its 21 sports that are sponsored by the CAA and eight teams had 10 or more student-athletes honored.
Women’s track and field had the highest number of athletes honored with 35 awards while men’s track and field had 28 athletes honored, women’s rowing had 24 members on the team, and football had 21 student-athletes honored.
Women’s tennis had the highest percentage of athletes honored as all eight members of the squad qualified for the award.
