Athlete photoNEWARK, Del. -- Kevin Zuchorski, who previously served as a graduate assistant at Marshall University, has been named the University of Delaware's athletics operations assistant.

In his new role, Zuchorski (at right) will assist UD Assistant Director of Athletics for Operations Alicia Greco in the day-to-day operations of Delaware's 21-sport athletics program (excluding football and men's and women's basketball), coordinating team practice needs, scheduling facilities for games and practices, and supervising a part-time student staff as game management for UD home athletics contests.

"Kevin’s prior experiences make him a great addition to our athletics operations unit here at Delaware," said Greco. "His sound operations know-how coupled with his passion and enthusiasm will be a driving force in continuing our goal to put on the highest quality of events this industry has to offer. We are excited to have Kevin as a part of the Blue Hen family."

A native of Cobleskill, N.Y., Zuchorski earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the College of St. Rose in Albany, N.Y. in 2008 and received his master's degree in sport administration from Marshall University in May, 2011.

"I am very excited and honored to be a part of the Delaware family," said Zuchorski. "Delaware has a great past and an even brighter future and I am happy to be a part of it."

He served as assistant director of events and graduate assistant for events, facilities, and operations at Marshall since July, 2009 where he was event manager for the softball, women's basketball, and women's soccer programs and assisted the director of events with gameday operations for football, men's basketball, volleyball, men's soccer, and baseball.

Among his responsibilities at Marshall included helping to maintain all athletic facilities and providing general upkeep and preventative maintenance, serving as liaison with officials and visiting teams for each athletic event, assisting with special events being held in athletic facilities, coordinating activities with IMG College Sports, and assisting with the scheduling of practices for all 16 athletic teams

While at Marshall, he also served for four months as a staff member with IMG Sports Marketing, assisting on-campus IMG staff with day-to-day activities, including proposals for clients, gameday promotions, and generating new clients.

Prior to heading to Marshall, Zuchorski was a staff assistant at SUNY Cobleskill (N.Y.) for five months in early, 2009, serving as public address announcer for men's and women's basketball games, assisting with pre-game and post-game setup for basketball, assisting with halftime promotions, and serving as evening supervisor of the College Fitness Center. He also was an intern with the Albany (N.Y.) River Rats minor league ice hockey team in 2007-08, working in sales, community relations, and operations.

He began his college career at SUNY Cobleskill and played for the baseball team in 2004-05 before transferring to St. Rose where he was a three-year member of the baseball squad.

Zuchorski is single and resides in Newark.
