Delaware Student-Athletes Earn UD Team Sportsmanship Awards for 2010-11 Athletic Season

NEWARK, Del. -- Twenty-two University of Delaware student-athletes have been selected as their team’s 2010-11 Blue Hen Team Sportsmanship Award winner for this past season, UD Director of Athletics and Recreation Services Bernard Muir announced.
The program, now in its eighth year, honors those student-athletes who have been outstanding role models and displayed outstanding sportsmanship towards their teammates, coaches, opponents, and game officials. The winners receive a certificate noting their award.
This year’s winners were: Steve Vincent (men’s cross country), Christine Sloat (women’s cross country), Greta Gibboney (volleyball), Missy Woodie (field hockey), Kevin Uhll (football), Ilyssa Friedman (women’s soccer), Courtney Hewitt (men’s soccer), D.J. Boney (men’s basketball), Chelsea Craig (women’s basketball), Erinne Butler (women’s swimming & diving), Kyle McLaughlin (men’s swimming & diving), Asia Hollis (women’s indoor track & field), Kayla Hennessy (women’s outdoor track & field), Ross Shober (men’s outdoor track & field), Dave Anderson (baseball), Brittany Noons (softball), Stephanie Lynch (rowing), Andre Vorobyov (men’s tennis). Megan Doran (women’s tennis), Derek Sherman (men’s lacrosse), Gracie Wills (women’s lacrosse), and Bobby Arthur (men’s golf).
Hollis, Gibboney, and Boney each won the award for the second time in their careers.
