NEWARK, Del. - - The University of Delaware Athletics Department will feature a book drive, culminating with a book drop off at the beginning of the Blue Hen football home game against Massachusetts on Saturday, October 15.
Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used children books on their way into Delaware Stadium. There will be drop off stations at both the west side main entrance and the east side main gates. Participants will receive a free game ticket voucher to either a future regular season football game, or a men or women’s basketball contest and a 25% off coupon good for a general reading book at the UD Bookstore, courtesy of Barnes & Noble.
The book drive will help benefit Success Won’t Wait, Inc. of Wilmington, Del.
Success Won’t Wait was founded in 2002, and is a not for profit literacy program. The organization has collected over 250,000 books from over dozens of book drives that have been held throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. From businesses, retail locations, churches, and civic associations, to private and public schools have all been involved.
Success Won’t Wait’s offices and warehouse facility are located at 1729 Marsh Road in North Wilmington. Fans who wish to participate in the program but are unable to attend the football game may make donations at this permanent drop off location.
The No. 13 ranked Blue Hens will take on Colonial Athletic Association foe Massachusetts starting at 3:30 p.m. at Delaware Stadium. Fans wishing to purchase tickets to the game can do so online at www.bluehens.com or in person at the Bob Carpenter Center and Trabant Student Center box offices.
