University of Delaware Crowns 2012 Intramural Basketball Champions

NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware crowned its newest group of Intramural Basketball champions Tuesday night as seven championship games were held at the Bob Carpenter Center.
In the opening game of the night, Rodney Rumble beat Gym Class Heroes 64-54 in the Co-ed White League. Brandon Harris was named the Male Most Valuable Player while Kerri Kinsella earned the Female MVP award.

In the Men's White League, Ball Till You Bleed cruised by the Ball Handlers, 47-27. Patrick Scheib was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.

Backed by Most Valuable Player Allison Herschlein, Nothing But Nets defeated Triple Threat, 34-24, in the Women’s League.

The Coed Gold League title went to Binds My Jines after defeating HPL, 40-26. Ryan Burghauser was named the Male Most Valuable Player of the game while Ling-Yin Liang was named the Female MVP.

Behind the efforts of Most Valuable Player Brian Purnell, Ball So Hard University edged the Shooters, 43-39, for the Men's Gold League title.

In the Men’s Blue League, Most Valuable Player Bill Reybold led Block City past Rack City, 44-32.

The final game of the night proved to be the most suspenseful as All We Do Is Lin snuck by the Swaggers, 73-70 for the Coed Blue crown. The Male Most Valuable Player award went to Tom Walsh while Mary Williams was named the Female MVP.

The University of Delaware Department of Athletics and Recreation Services and the Intramural Department thanks all the athletes for their participation during the spring.
