University of Delaware Spirit Teams to Perform National Routines at Sendoff Ceremony Tuesday Night at CSB

NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware cheerleaders, dance team, and mascot team will be performing their national routines in a special National Sendoff Performance this Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the Carpenter Sports Building front gym.
The event, which begins at 6 p.m., is free and open to the public.
The three spirit teams are preparing for the annual Universal Cheerleaders Association/Universal Dance Association College Cheerleading and Dance Team national championships to be held Jan. 13-15 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla. The championships are the most prestigious college cheerleading championships in the country.
The Delaware spirit teams will be performing their routines for approximately 25 minutes with the dance team performing their Jazz and Hip Hop routines, the mascot team performing, and the cheerleading team performing.
The UD spirit teams have enjoyed outstanding success at the national championships. Last season, YoUDee won his third national championship in the last 10 years while the UD Dance Team also took first place in the Hip Hop competition for the third straight year and for the fourth time in the last eight seasons. In addition, the UD Cheerleading Team placed second and the UD Dance Team placed 10th in the Jazz category.
