University of Delaware junior women's basketball player Kyle DeHaven is the Wilmington Trust Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for Feb. 4.
A 5-9 guard from Herndon, VA (Herndon HS) and a first-year transfer from William & Mary, led the Delaware women's basketball team to another 2-0 week as the Blue Hens (19-3, 10-1 Colonial Athletic Association) defeated Virginia Commonwealth 82-51 on Wednesday in Richmond, VA and downed Georgia State 85-66 on Sunday at the Bob Carpenter Center.
DeHaven averaged 17.5 points , 4.5 assists, and 5.0 steals per game in leading Delaware to the one-sided wins. She hit 8 of 10 shots from the field and finished with a season-high 19 points to go with five assists and four steals vs. VCU and hit on 7 of 17 shots and finished with 16 points, four assists, and six steals against Georgia State.
She currently averages 8.3 points per game, leads the team with 73 steals, and ranks No. 2 on the team with 71 assists.
