NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware women's outdoor track and field standout Cristine Marquez, who finished in the top eight in four events to lead the Blue Hens to a sixth place team finish at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships this past weekend at Towson (Md.) University, is the Wilmington Trust Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for the period ending April 19.

Marquez, a junior from Old Bridge, N.J. (Old Bridge High School), was the Hens' top track finisher with a second place showing in the 200 meters and later placed third in the 4 x 400 meter relay, fourth in the 400 meters, and eighth in the 4 x 100 meter relay.

She broke her own school record in the 200 meters with a time 24.15 and teamed with Asia Hollis, Alexi Capsouras, and Kristi Cox to post a time of 3:48.49 in the 4 x 400 meter relay, posted a time of 55.31 in the 400 meters, and teamed with Hollis, Cox, and Alexa Windsor for a time of 49.34 in the 4 x 100 meter relay.

Delaware placed sixth in the team standings with 62 points. William & Mary won the team title followed by UNC Wilmington, Georgia State, Northeastern, George Mason, Delaware, James Madison, Towson, and VCU.

Marquez, who has already qualified for the ECAC Championships (May15-17 at Princeton) in all four events, will be competing at the Penn Relays this weekend in Philadelphia.
