NEWARK, DE -- For the fourth time in her outstanding career for the University of Delaware women's track and field program, senior Asha Quant has been named the Wilmington Trust Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week.

Quant (at right), a senior chemical engineering major from Willingboro, NJ (Holy Cross High School), earned the award again after her outstanding performance at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday at Princeton University.

She earned a spot in the upcoming NCAA East Regionals at Florida State (May 30-31) after placing fourth in the long jump with a school record leap of 19-feet, 11 1/2-inches. Quant, who broke her own record set last season, earned All-East honors with her fourth place showing.

A standout sprinter, Quant also teamed with Cristine Marquez, Kristi Cox, and Kayla Hennessy to place 10th in the 4 x 100 meter relay and 27th in the 4 x 400 meter relay at the ECAC meet.
