NEWARK, Del. -- Junior libero Stephanie Barry, who led the University of Delaware volleyball team to a perfect week with a non-league win over Delaware State and Colonial Athletic Association road triumphs over Georgia State and UNC Wilmington, is the Wilmington Trust Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sept. 29.

Barry, the 2007 CAA Defensive Specialist of the Year and an honorable mention AVCA All-American, is a business major from Long Beach, Calif. (Wilson High School).

The Hens (6-10, 2-0 CAA) defeated Delaware State 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-12) on Sept. 23 at Barbara Viera Court as Barry posted two service aces and 25 digs.

The defending CAA champion Blue Hens continued their winning ways on the road as they upended Georgia State 3-2 (25-27, 26-24, 25-13, 23-25, 15-10) with Barry registering 23 digs and one service ace and defeated UNC Wilmington 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 29-27) as Barry posted 24 digs.
