NEWARK, Del. -- Junior golfer Kevin McLister (at right), who led the University of Delaware golf team to consecutive tournament titles last week and recorded two top 10 individual finishes, is the Army ROTC Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for the period ending October 11.

McLister, a junior finance major, enjoyed the best week of his career as he captured the individual title at Delaware's own Scotty Duncan Memorial Tournament on Monday and followed with an eighth place finish at the Joe Ageen Invitational at William & Mary on Sunday.

A native of Leesburg, Va. (Loudoun County High School), McLister fired rounds of 73 on Sunday and 72 on Monday for a one-over part 145 on the par 72 White Clay Creek Golf Club Course to win his first collegiate tournament by three strokes. He led Delaware to the team title with a score of 606, six strokes better than runner-up George Washington.

This past weekend at William & Mary, McLister shot 74 on Saturday and 70 on Sunday at the par 71 Colonial Heritage Golf Club to finish tied for eighth place at 144, just three strokes off the winning score.

Delaware also captured the team title at William & Mary, carding a team score of 578, two strokes better than runner-up and CAA foe Old Dominion. The Hens have now won consecutive team titles for the first time since 1989.

McLister, who ranked No. 3 von the team with a 74.5 stroke average, will next lead the Blue Hens Oct. 17-18 at the Seton Hall Invitational.
