NEWARK, Del. -- Senior running backk Junior Jabbie, who led the University of Delaware football team to a 17-0 shutout win over Colonial Athletic Association foe Hofstra University Saturday afternoon in Hempstead, N.Y., is the Wilmington Trust Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for the period ending Oct. 26.
A first-year transfer from Notre Dame and a graduate student in sport management at Delaware, Jabbie is a native of Parlin, N.J. and played his high school football at the Hun School.
Despte an injury-plagued season, Jabbie enjoyed his finest day in a Delaware uniform as he rushed 31 times for 155 yards and a touchdown and helped take the heat off quarterbacks Robbie Agnone and Aaron Love, a pair of All-American receivers who were pressed into action due to injuries to the team's top 10 quarterbacks.
Jabbie, who picked up 96 of his yards in the opening half, started the scoring with a seven-yard run up the middle with 6:29 left in the opening quarter.
